GSMESKILL project aims at reinforcing the links and coordination between VET systems and local labour markets in Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa.

The project focuses on the improvement and empowerment of VET providers in the fields of management, governance, inclusion, quality assurance, innovation and internationalization.

These actions and improvements will consequently lead to an increase of the levels of competences, skills and employability potential of VET learners, and an increased awareness among those institutional actors that should bridge labour market and VET.

The following objectives will be achieved with the implementation of these activities over the period of 36 months:

  • An evidence-based research and mapping of skills and good practices,
  • the development of innovative vocational teaching methodologies and toolbox for VET Entrepreneurial Mind set and skills for Small Business Development,
  • The elaboration of a GSMESKILL E-Learning Platform & Inclusive National Policy Recommendations development.

These activities will be complemented by:

  • Targeted dissemination activities with the involvement of private sector,
  • Sustainability strategy,
  • International exchange activities,
  • Virtual workshops and working groups of VET institutions, private sector companies and young entrepreneurs.

This is an international collaboration project which started in January 2023 and will be completed in December 2025. The Partner organisations are from Italy, Greece, Germany, Slowenia, Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa:
